Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance released!!

Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance has been released in the United States for Xbox, Playstation 2 and GameBoy Advance! The Nintendo GameCube version of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance will be released tomorrow.

Right now we're busy collecting as much information about the game as we can, you'll be able to see and read it on the new MKK site that will open on Fatality Friday (the day the game was supposed to be released).

Midway released The Krypt PDF file!

Midway.com released a scratchlist for "The Kryp" in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. The Kryp is a place where you'll be able to "buy" special features like alternate costumes, hidden costumes, etc. with "Kombat Coins" that can be earned in the game. Click here to directly download the PDF file. The file is in PDF format. PDF files can be read with Adobe Acrobat Reader. A free copy of this software can be downloaded at Adobe.com.

New screenshots and videos released at GameSpot!

GameSpot Complete members can now download 3 new movies and 30 new screenshots of the GameCube version of Mortal Kombat : Deadly Alliance. The first movie shows Scorpion performing his Fatality on Li Mei. The second features Kung Lao and Sub-Zero doing battle. The last movie has Sub-Zero fighting himself and Scorpion fighting Sonya. Note that you have to be a member of GameSpot Complete to download this new media.

P.S. I see I forgot to mention that GameSpot Complete members can download a 250MB+ (!) movie of Q&A with GameSpot Live's Ryan Mac Donald and Ed Boon.

Only 10 days untill Fatality Friday!

There are only 10 days left until November 22nd: Fatality Friday, the day that Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance will finally be released. MKK and MK5.ORG are getting ready for the big day with alot of cool stuff. One of these cool things is that I will launch a completely new design for this site that I've been writing from scratch!

The new site will have alot of cool new features. Here's a list of some of the good stuff that the new site will bring:

  • Completely new design.
  • Better coverage of the games and movies.
  • More exclussive content like fan art, fakes, etc.
  • Compatible with a wider range of browsers, operating systems and screenresolutions.
  • 100% valid XHTML1 Transitional and CCS level 2.
  • Pages will load faster.
  • More interaction.

We're working very hard on the new site at the moment; during this process you might find some changes on the old (this) site. Don't worry when you find broken links... just keep an eye on this latest news page, we'll keep you informed on any drastic changes.

Mortal Kombat Kourier joins #mortalkombat IRC Network!

Mortal Kombat Kourier has -after a close bond with the member sites from the start- joined the #mortalkombat IRC Network, the biggest fan based MK network in the world. Other members of the network are MK5.org, Mortal Kombat Dominion, The Realm of Mortal Kombat, and MKNe. This transfer means that we will have a Java client on the site soon, so you can join the #mortalkombat IRC channel and discuss anything MK related with fellow MK fans, and every now and then a special guest...

If you have an IRC client (like mIRC), you can join us right now. Just take over these values:

server: irc.webmaster.com
port: 6667
channel: #mortalkombat

Oh, you wonder who does special guests could possible be? Well, does the name Ed Boon ring a bell?

IGN releases another fatality movie!

IGN.com released a little movie clip of the fatality we've been hearing so much about, and also saw some screenshots of, not so long ago. It's Sub-Zero's spinerip fatality being performed on Scorpion. Although the fatality itself is rather silly, and looks somewhat like the goofy fatalities from MK3, it appears they still wanted the fatality to look quite realistic because it appears Sub-Zero has difficulties ripping Scorpions spine out (and so he should, heh). The movie is in MPEG format, and can be dowloaded right here.
